San Juan Capistrano

What began as an open stretch of lawn became the site for something more ambitious: a private outdoor gym, sauna, and bath, built without the cost, permitting, and engineering timeline of a full ADU. Rather than add square footage to the house, we designed a multi-unit Renson pergola system, partitioned into three distinct zones, delivering the function of a dedicated wellness structure at a fraction of the complexity and cost.

Each zone was built to perform on its own terms. Privacy panels, sliding glass walls, and adjustable louvers let the gym, sauna, and shower space close off completely: private, weathertight, climate-controlled. Left open, those same panels dissolve the line between indoor and outdoor: sunlight over the equipment, a breeze through the sauna, the everyday luxury of a space that adapts to how you actually want to use it.
